Mario Badescu Samples!!

Hey,

It's been a while since I've posted on my new blog. lol! It is pretty dead anyway, BUT at least I can write about stuff I like :D

So, I got my Mario Badescu samples in the mail :D It took a month, but it was FREE!

Mario Badescu sells skin care products that are extremely popular in Hollywood. Many celebs raves about them.

I heard about them through Youtube. There is a really popular drying lotion for pimples that a lot of people say is amazing.

Do you want free samples? Well, if you do, just follow these steps.

1. Go to http://www.mariobadescu.com/
2. On the top bar of the page look for "consulting" and click on it.
3. Fill out the profile (fill everything out).
4. In a few days you'll receive an email from the company telling you they will send you some samples.
5. Accept! And, depending on where you live wait 1- 6 weeks and you'll get your awesome and generous samples.

You don't even have to pay shipping and handling! It is pretty amazing!

I was recommended 19 products, but I only got 7.

It came in a bubble sleeve and in really cute packaging.

Look at the picture~

I really wanted the drying lotion, but, unfortunately, it wasn't included.

However, so far, I really like the products I got though.

1. Enzyme cleansing gel--> It is really gentle and smells great. It like it because it isn't harsh. It is hard to get used to non-lathering face washes though. But I like it so far.

2. Special cucumber lotion- It is basically a toner. It is also quite gentle, and refreshing. It also removes all the excess dirt you may have missed while washing.

3. Ceramide Herbal eye cream- This is the first eye cream I've ever used. I really don't have anything to compare it to. It is pretty hydrating, it is just a little bit greasy. Also, A little goes a long way. Always a great thing.

4. Drying Mask- OMG this mask smells disgusting! SOOOO disgusting. I don't think I can ever use it as a full mask again. It has sulfur in it, and you can TELL. Now I understand why people hate sulfur products, it may work- but it smells so very rancid. I am just using this as a spot treatment mask now. It works very well.

5. Hydro Moisturizer with vitamin C- I like this moisturizer. It feels quite hydrating without being to greasy or oily. It is also unscented, and that is great for people with sensitive skin etc... I don't think I'd buy the full size of this.

6. Drying cream- It love it. It really helps dry out any pimples you might have. It also doesn't smell disgusting (like the drying mask). I'd definitely get some of this in the larger size, but first I want to try to drying lotion to see which works better!

7. Strawberry Face scrub- St. Ives owns this scrub. Yes the strawberry face scrub smells fantastic, but there isn't really any exfoliating action. It does have little strawberry seeds but not many. It is more like a 2 min mask to me. I like it, but I wouldn't buy it.

All in all, I like the products, and plan on getting a few full size ones in the future. Best of all is... they were free! And who doesn't like free stuff? Exactly!

Olive oil- the miracle oil!

So, I am officially an olive oil addict. This stuff is the BEST! I don't only mean for cooking with (it is obviously fantastic- I love it with salad), but for your body- the outside of it.

I had a huge zit one day, and it wouldn't go away, so my grandmama<3 told me to put some olive oil on it, and when I woke up, it went down so much. I got another one, and did the same. Now I just put it all over my face, it smooths your skin. It is amazing! I also put it in my hair, to keep the ends from breaking. If you put to much, your hair WILL be greasy, so be careful.

I am sure most people are afraid of olive oil doing clogging pores. Maybe with the oil cleansing method it may do that Oil cleansing is better left to our dry skinned sisters. I use it differently, and so far it has been great. I just wash my face, use a toner, then put it on. If you have a particular pimple you want gone, just put some extra there. You don't need to scrub it into your skin.

Oh, another great thing is that olive oil helps get rid of marks and discoloration. It is hydrating, and ALL natural. You must use extra virgin olive oil because all the nutrients are still left, and therefore that type is the best for your skin.

I think the best thing is- it is cheap, and it is a multi purpose oil.
Try it out! If you don't like it, use the rest for cooking with :D

Ly- Na Pearl Face Cream

YAY!

I am so excited! I got the Ly Na Pearl Face cream today. I first heard of it while watching videos on youtube. I thought it sounded interesting, so I then did a lot of research up on it.

I of course heard the rumors of this product containing mercury, and I looked this up. I have concluded that it is safe, and there is nothing to worry about.

BUT

There are 3 different creams- 1. the original ly na cream in the pink and gold container, 2. the medicated one in a green container, and the 3. the tube ly na cream which says it is medicated.

The last 2 do contain traces of mercury, so DO NOT get those products.

The last 2 say they are medicated because they have EXTRA sulfur, which helps in the reduction of breakouts. The pink one has sulfur in it to, so it will still aid in this area.

On a website, I read about a girl testing all 3 products and finding no mercury in the pink/gold container.

This is a Taiwanese product that contains pearl powder. Pearls have long been used in Asia by the the rich and royal, to keep skin free of blemish, fair, and beautiful. I don't want to bleach my skin, but this cream is said to get rid of the marks left behind after a breakout (which is wonderful). I am pretty sure though, if you don't be careful, your face will get lighter than the rest of your body. I don't think it should be used for extremely long periods of time because of this. It may be better to switch between products every few months if you don't want your face to be 10821084x lighter than your neck lol.

If you are naturally very pale, this should be fine I guess. Oh, and people say it smells bad, or like an old lady, but I think it smells more like a baby. It reminds me of baby powder. I like it :)

It is supposed to also tighten the pores, and overall keep your skin looking healthy and pretty.

I got this for 3.99 at my local Asian foods store- so it is very cheap.

I haven't used it yet, But I will update!

Noxzema continuous clean mask

Hey!!!

So here is another great product I love to use: it is by noxzema, and it is their "continuous clean- deep cleansing mask. I am sure you remember those 90's commercials with all the girls washing their faces with a noxzema cleanser. I never used a cleanser by them, but I love, love, LOVE this mask.

This mask contains bentonite clay; an amazing natural deep cleanser. This clay is extremely absorbent, so it sucks out all the dirt, oil and impurities that build up on your precious skin. It forms for the ash of a volcano eruption. Isn't that cool? I think it is! This mask also has a citrus formula included, so when you put it on, you will immediately feel a tingling sensation. It is really refreshing.

It says that the mask should be used 2-3 times a week. I like to put it on when my skin is dried after washing because when it is wet, the mask takes to long to dry. When you wash this mask off you will feel very refreshed and clean.

I think there are many other products with this clay in it- but as a young student, I love this product because it is very affordable- and gets the job done. It is around 3-4 dollars at walmart (I love walmart lol).

So for those who are looking for a cheap and deep clean, I highly recommend this mask!

St. Ives Apricot Scrub

Okay,

I figured I might as well do some reviews because I've used many products already, so I'll share my thoughts on them! Remember, all reviews are based on my own opinion and how they personally work for me.

Anyway, I want to talk about one of my favorite products out there- St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It is very popular, so many people may have used it, but I am sure there are those who have not.

A scrub is an exfoliater that removes dead skins, so that your skin will be left looking radiant, and fresh.
This scrub is made with apricot. Apricots have many healing properties, and have been used for both medicinal and non-medicinal purposes for over 1000 years. According to wikipedia, "As early as the year 502, apricot seeds were used to treat tumors, and in the 17th century, apricot oil was used in England against tumors and ulcers." All in all, apricots are very detoxifying, and therefore excellent for your skin.

St . Ives apricot scrub is wonderful because there are a few types of this scrub- ensuring that there is a scrub for everyone. I personally love the scrub above because it is has salicylic acid in it, which helps in the control and aid of horribly annoying breakouts.

I have pretty sensitive skin- I am very prone to break outs, and I find that this scrub is safe enough to use everyday. However, if you have extremely sensitive skin, do not despair, St. Ives has a gentle formula scrub just for you. Along with this, there is a great scrub for aging skin called "renew and firm," and of course there is the original.

BEST OF ALL- IT IS HIGHLY AFFORDABLE!!!

At walmart, it is about $3 cdn. At shoppers drug mart it is double the price, but still reasonable.

First Post!!!

Hey ya'll!

Well, hmm... this is my first blog. I don't really know what to do with it, so bare with me. I think I will use this blog for keeping track of products that I use, and inovative beauty techniques I come across. I love skin care and hair care products, so that is what I'll probably concentrate on. My goal is to have long healthy hair, and beautiful skin (it sucks right now). I am not that good at doing makeup- or that big on makeup anyway. I love looking natural, which is why I want to keep track of the best products to help my skin to look great, without to much foundation etc.... Anyway, that is it for now :)

Take care.
